Hand clutch mounted behind the steering wheel, the shifter is on the right clutch on the left. You only use the clutch from a standing start they have sequential transmissions.

They are a handful on Sprint tracks (kart tracks vs actual road courses) the amount and speed of upshifts and downshifts is mindnumbing when you start out. You need a good deal of single speed seat time before moving to a shifter.
