You don’t find the timing a little convenient?
Why would Republicans have this and not use it in general election vs Northam?

It is a little bizarre, I’ll give you that.
But does the timing justify all the things you’re implying? That’s a bit of a stretch.

I never post here but this thread is so insane, especially the assumption that the Republicans knew during the elections but didn't use it for some reason.
Admitting my Christian bias, and also admitting I'm generally a D but strongly against late-term abortions, the Hand of God argument that this picture was divinely revealed by God to someone as punishment for a heinous statement is move believable than either theory in this thread.

Ex-classmate of this guy thought it was nice having an old acquaintance as governor. Then he hears the a-hole, as a physician, excusing the VA abortion bill this week. Gets pissed.
Wants to remember if Northam was such a jerk when he knew him in school. Goes back to his med school yearbook. Sees pic of CoonmanNortham in blackface. Yep, Northam was a jerk back then too. So he sends the yearbook image anonymously to a couple of rags including "Big League".
Damage done!
Seems far more plausible than Dems embarrassing themselves by undercutting their "the-other-party-is-racist" theme.

Tell me when the last time Republicans used stuff like this to win an election.

It wouldn't be too crazy. If that yearbook was like any I ever received, the index at the end with names and page numbers only sent you to the actual yearbook photo, not these type of "special" extra-curricular pages. For instance, I was in several photos from a school trip throughout my yearbook, but next to my name in the index it just had "page 53" which was my actual yearbook photo.
You also aren't taking into account that he's made a lot of waves the last week or so and drawn a lot of attention to a position that normally isn't in the national spotlight. All it takes is one guy across the country remembering he went to med school with the guy all over the news right now and digging out his old yearbook to show his wife or buddies.
Either way it's surprising the Rs didn't have it during the election, but it wouldn't be a huge shock if it was simply buried in time.
