I’m a little torn here.
I want to be consistent.
If Northam had a black buddy who dressed as the klansman for the party and he went blackface, it was a joke and it was 1984. I’d give him a pass.
That is called context and consideration of when the picture was taken.
No Republican would ever be given such quarter.

What’s so 2019 is that people are talking about this nonsense and not what he said. I really can’t fathom anybody, especially a doctor, talking about keeping an infant comfortable awaiting a decision on whether to murder the baby. That is sick and if I was him I’d be very happy everybody is talking about his blackface vs the reality of what he said.

Regarding the "infanticide" issue, palliation happens. In hopeless situations, it is requisite. It is also rough, really rough.
I'd imagine it's like being a cop and having to tell parents, their daughter's raped-tortured-murdered body was just discovered. It sucks! Hard!
But the way Northam addressed palliation is so creepy and Gosnellesque, it made my skin crawl.

Well the majority of the slaveholding confederacy were democrats, as were those who developed and enforced Jim Crow laws. So it would make sense that either one of those would be him since the democrat party has been and will continue to be on the wrong side of history
