Emmitt Williams

First off, Williams is probably my favorite player on this year's MBB team. I have a question about his development and draft stock. As a McDonald's All American player I think it's safe to say he has NBA aspirations. Are we hoping that he learns to play bigger and maybe develop some post moves that will allow him to bang down low in the NBA. Or are we hoping he develops more touch and a shot that allows him to be more of a 3 and D plus a rebounder? I know he plays bigger than his size but I just don't see a 6'6 guy banging in the paint down low in the NBA

There's no way he's an NBA guy after this year, I'd say he's a 3-4 year college player with the big factor holding him back being his height. At 6'6 and his game right now an NBA team wouldn't think of drafting him. He's eventually going to have to start shooting the ball some to get NBA scouts really noticing him.

He wasn’t a mcdonald’s all-american, although he did play in a seperate all-star game and dominated

IMO, he will need to develop more of an all court game to be a successful pro player. He needs to improve ball handling and shooting along with continuing to improve other skills and bb iq.

Alos, Williams will be a double double machine by the time he's done here at LSU, could be as early as next season depending who we get in recruiting wise, but he will eventually be a 30 minute a game guy and average somehting like 14/10 a game I bet. His rebounding skills are off the charts.
Darius Days isn't the athlete Williams, but is a little more developed offensively. I look forward to seeing how both progress here. They both can really fight for offensive boards.

He's going to be big time. He's only a Fr..

Yes you are correct. That is my fault. I got that confused. He dropped a record scoring amount for like the Nike hoops summit or the Jordan game or something like that.

This post was directed at what he needs to do to succeed in the NBA. I know what he's capable of doing in the purple and gold...

Days and Williams are the bash brothers for us and I love it.

I'll say he dominated. He played in the Jordan Brand Classic, scored 44 pts on 22/23 shooting (mostly slam dunks) and broke Labron James' scoring record for the event.
He also won the national slam dunk championship. He wasn't a 5 star recruit for nothing. He is a physical stud. He doesn't shoot much because we have scorers. I like his free throw shot. Has a nice arch and makes a fairly high percentage. I believe he can score, but he is needed under the basket as a rebounder and havoc wrecker at this point.
He is a role player and a good one!

A true tweener. Needs to develop mid range jumper and improves ball handling to get paid. He could easily be a Williams from Tn type 4 year player

Days + Williams on the court on the same time = other teams screwed
They are absolute forces down low together

Without a slick jumper, he doesn't have a prayer of making it in the NBA.

He does have a 7 foot wingspan despite being only 6’6” so he does have that going for him.

He needs to stop trying to stand out with his looks and do things that count....Taylor is an example of what he should have been doing....and he had the first chance.

IS he not allowed to have fun? Williams has been a very good contributor for us, no idea why you're upset he's got short shorts.
