Emond Fielders are repeatedly described as "dark", and although RJ likely meant more Olive complected, I don't have a problem with the way they went with casting.

Yeah it is a little on the woke side but its not the end of the world.

Now, if they make the Andoran royal family dark complected, or some of the Aiel asian, or all of the Seanchan lily white, yeah that won't work.

I'm realllllllllllly glad they made the Whitecloaks multi-racial, because if they were all white guys that could bring too many KKK comparisons on screen.

It certainly could go too far but as of now i dont think it has any real impact on the story.

If it becomes overblown in ways you said or is distracting, i will be annoyed but whatever.

If they make racism a storyline i will be really bothered because that theme isnt really in there.

Given todays clinate in tv and movies, having some obvious multi racial groups will probably make it more readily accepted by more people and will also be a good way to show that this show isnt about race or dealing with that issue

I saw the Whitecloaks as the crusading Catholic Church. Pretty easy comparison. But that's funny.
