Of course, I never envisioned the heronmark as being embossed in gold rather than simply etched into the steel of the sword, either.
The heronmark? They probably just want the viewer to be able to spot other blademasters from a distance on a TV screen.

Many tense situations resulted from the visibility of the blade, when sheathed.
Maybe they ignore that whole thing. . .just seems like a waste.
