Refused to Play

When watching the game I was saying to myself, do no go out there and kick that field goal until this is remedied. Hell, it was a chip shot anyway, a couple delays of game while continuing to argue would’nt been the end of the world. Crowd would have been even more unhinged then they already were and maybe just maybe they confer and make something happen. At the very least it would’ve been a terrible look for the NFL.
Although they probably would’ve just cut to commercial. Man, I’m still pissed about this. Not the loss. The blatant robbery.

In hindsight, maybe, but we had the lead and only needed one more stop. We didn’t get it. BUT frick THOSE REFS GODDAMMIT!!!!

Payton didn’t make the with ation any better by calling a pass play with less than 2:00 to go. In the end, had Payton just run the ball and made Rams use TO, there’s a pretty good chance Saints would have won regardless of the terrible no call.

Payton absolutely should have thrown the challenge flag.
Draw as much attention to it as possible and make the ref step up and make an announcement that the play isn’t reviewable.

Having trouble sleeping and my mind racing over all holding and pi's not getting called when the Saints were in the red zone multiple times, I finally drifted off to sleep thinking--why not take the entire team to the lockerroom forcing the field refs to conference and get the call right.

Payton blew the game with that call and the refs sealed it with that no call.

coaches can't challenge under 2 minutes

Dosent matter. As a form of calling attention to the play. Should have thrown the challenge flag, headset, water bottles, helmets, anything he could get his hands on.

I wanted to throw the rams fan in front of me.

Payton is probably hindered in what he can do by all kinds of formal and informal contractual agreements and consequences. Saw one clip of him this morning and his words and demeanor were clear he was making every effort not to say more than he had and made some vague reference about the process, limitations or something.
