You are thinking about this year. The Pels are thinking about keeping AD first and foremost. If they trade for Bral, I don't think they trade AD regardless of what happens this year. They tell him they have a core of him, Jrue, Beal, and Niko and they are gonna take the league by storm next season.
Then, come January, if the team is dominating, you keep AD and sell him on signing the following summer with a cast as good as any he can join elsewhere. If not, you trade him in Jan or Feb for a very similar haul that you can get this summer

That’s a terrible plan A,imo.
If we are about building a stronger culture, Getting in now against a favorable matchup(ie anyone but GSW) in the playoffs with picks in hand, new found depth(as AD is currently talking about all of our injuries), developing young talent(Frank & Jah) a 3rd Star and personal friend that AD recruited off the bench, imo is a better play.
Baze and Dedmon with the top 6, Frank and Jah is a dangerous deep team that has the depth this year to make the WCF in the right bracket.
Winning. Building the legacy.
Beal-Holiday-Niko-AD is an awesome core...and what’s left next year? No picks to replenish roster(foundational problem with this franchise) Payton gone, Randle gone(either way gone most likely).
So we’re top heavy without young players on cheap contracts...
& we’re going to dip into the tax to pay guys 5-9? How deep are we going? Beal @ PG? Starting SF? Back up Rim Protector?
Beal is another star player. I get it. But he’s not like Boogie taking some of the load off AD personally...more like taking load off Jrue(which does have value)
But the very same questions about the foundation of this franchise are still up if the mega package for Beal is thrown up there.
With all the injuries that he’s talked about in The Athletic interview, the NBC sports article referring to the football medical staff, AD and Jrue carrying an unsustainable workload this season(the same kind that had Boogie exhausted and likely led to his injury)...sound depth is the play.
And absolutely NO to trading for Chandler No Knees Parsons

I wonder if they could work a 4 team with Atlanta and Cleveland where we only give up 1-1st rounder.
Atlanta gets: Kevin Love
Cleveland gets: Mahinmi, Hill
Wash gets: Bazemore, Randle, Wes 2019 Pels 1st
