So because people disrespected our coach preseason, this season is better?

We should look at LSU's finish in a vacuum. Preseason rankings should have no bearing on our measures of success.

We were 9-3 in the regular season and should've been 10-2. That is pretty good. We should never be worse than that. Great win against a stacked UGA team. Embarrassing loss to Alabama.

Good season, with a lot of room for improvement.

No. The OP's comment was that this was not a good season relative to preseason expectations. Well, preseason expectations from both the national and local perspective were pretty low. Thus, you have to say finishing 6th in the nation is a "good season" STRICTLY RELATIVE to preseason expectations.

However, to say, as the OP did, that it was a good season relative to program expectations is also, IMO, wrong. Presumably, when LSU moved on from Miles it was because they wanted more than 9-10 win seasons. Thus, it's hard to say this was a "good" season when all it did was met a standard that wasn't looked at as good enough 3-4 years ago.

FWIW, I agree with you. Just not the opinion that it somehow wasn't a good season when strictly comparing this season to this season's preseason expectations.
