I need a new car in a year or so, so I've started my slow year long shopping process. I need a big v8 suv. All both domestic and foreign are insanely expensive, so I started looking at used. I most want a Suburban (actually in the perfect world a Denali XL for the 6.2L). Looking used though, I am just more comfortable with a Sequoia or Lexus LX or GX. There seem to be too many hit or miss issues with the GMs, and I'd rather a Toyota with 30k miles than the GM.

Though I recently have started looking to the new Armada. A 2018 platinum AWD can be found in the low 40s. I have had a nissan before and liked it. So check those out too.

My fear of the GM is mostly related to the newer models with the shaking issues. I feel like a lot of the newer low mile ones are probably trade ins or early lease terminations due to some of those issues.

IMO this is the best value for a large, higher end SUV. They look great in that gunmetal grey color.

At the $40k pricepoint, these are a much better buy than a Tahoe LT. Not exactly the same type of SUV, but close enough for most people.
