I keep hearing this on especially on Twitter in reference to Alexendria Ocasio Cortez 70% tax increase. It seems all the of lefties are for it and said it was successful in 50s.
Clearly not successfull at collecting 70% of anyone's marginal income. People out themselves as idiots when they spew this. I'd HAPPILY take 70% tax rates with the same deductions they had back then over todays rates. My tax bill would go from 5 digits to 4. Easily.
Also... notice how they only talk about the highest marginal rate...
Guess what, the lowest marginal rate in 1960 was (20%). Doub;e the current lowest marginal rate. Are they for raising that rate too? Let's see if they are intellecutally honest...
