Yep, remember that. Lost to Auburn at home and dropped to 14 and then beat #1 Florida in that famous game. That was a talented team.

That's when Cecil Collins ran all over an impressive AU defense for 235 yards. One of the best games by a running back I'd ever seen at the time. So what does DiNardo do on 3rd and 2 on the AU 47 with 10 minutes left in the 4th, and LSU ahead 28-24? Why run Collins when you can throw to Larry, The Purse, Foster. LSU ended up punting and that POS Dameyune Craig got AU to the LSU 17 where they missed a field goal with 6+ minutes remaining. After an LSU punt, Craig and AU got the ball back on their 20 with 3:12 left. They drove for the winning touchdown aided by a couple, shaky at best, PI calls. Hard to sit through that game. That game is one of the main reasons I can't stand Craig to this day.

Most of us hate conservative calls, but after the way Cecil was running against their D, why throw the ball? There was a collective gasp in the stands when Herb (6-21-2 int's, 115 yds, 1 td) dropped back to pass. They key at that time was keeping the ball out of Craig's hands.
