I just finished Bill O'Reilly's "Killing Jesus". Really good book that teaches you about the political climate at the time of Jesus and the roles of Tiberias, Herod, Antipas, Caiaphas, etc. Really helps you understand why Jesus was a major threat to them and why these people reacted the way they did.

I can’t imagine a lesser authority writing such an important book.

According to Christianity, something O’Reilly regards little, Jesus died because it was God’s will that he should.
No political entity is solely responsible. Did he mention any of that?

Although his conclusion that Jesus was a zealot is disputed, to say the least, Reza Aslan’s book Zealot also did a good job of painting a picture of the political climate at the time.
