Not to change the subject or anything, but I’ve never understood people switching between different Christian denominations. They’re all pretty much the same thing.

I am Catholic (more or less), was raised Catholic, and consider myself Catholic (more or less).

In my life I’ve waffled between somewhat regular Mass attendance, to occasional, to long periods of no attendance. I go when I feel like I need to go. And I’m OK with that. The one thing I would never do would be wasting my time switching to another denomination. We all worship the same God. I can see going the atheist or agnostic route, but switching seems like a waste of time.

Any member of a Christian Church is imperfect. We are all sinners. No one is perfect. Unfortunately, a church’s beliefs conflicts with another denomination’s beliefs, and we have separation because the absolute truth about Sacraments and salvation can not be known with 100 percent certainty.

Faith is a gift from God. The greatest gift is Love. I will never know if the Catholic Sacraments are 100 percent valid. We all believe in something. Some people believe Xenu is God and we need to be cleared of thetans. Some believe we are a simulation. Some people believe reality is a dream state. Philosophers have debated God and the intelllect for thousands of years.

In the end, it comes down to realizing that religion and political beliefs will always separate the societies of the world. No one has the absolute truth as of today.

Actually, there are substantial differences between the Christian denominations and their interpretation of scripture. From understanding of/requirements of salvation & eternal life all the way to the governance of the individual local church, some are very different than others.
Martin Luther's start of the Reformation opened the door for individuals to have freedom to interpret scripture as they feel God directs. That has led to many minor and some major differences. I encourage you to explore the scripture to see how God would lead you instead of just "accepting" the tradition.
