Bitches flipped after the election.
Looks like Les Land has become a liberal enclave. At least in this one fricked up district.
I would go ballistic if I voted for an R and they transgendered over to a D after I voted. Do we have to get candidates to start signing letters of intent before they run? frick.

You have to remember that is western upper middle to upper class suburban Kansas City. It is only 20 miles away from Lawrence (Kansas's version of Boulder or Austin.) and is loaded with KU graduates.

Politics has always been a shifty business and a running joke about the corruption but I really do think we are getting to the point where it may have gone too far. Not necessarily just because of this particular story but in it's entirety.
Hell even the majority of republicans nowadays could really be called democrats lite and the whole thing is getting almost unrecognizable to me as a functioning entity that represents loyal tax paying American citizens

Brownback destroyed the Republican party in KS and Kobach promised to continue doing that. Trump seems to be more a casualty/side effect of that than any overall statement on Trump's popularity in KS. He'll still carry the state by a wide margin in '20.
Anecdotally, back in the early 90's, my brother ran for a state house seat in KS as a Democrat - even though he was a Bob Dole intern and is a Trump supporter to this day. It's done in KS quite a bit due to the establishment/entrenchment of some Republicans.
Regardless - shouldn't people be voting policy over party? Who cares what letter is next to a candidates name, as long as they're supporting good policy?

Yeah, state politics can be a lot different than national politics depending on the state. For instance, if you are in a state district in the western half of Kansas how what you are campaigning on is going to affect farmers and ranchers is going to decide your fate no matter what party you claim to be.
