I disagree. Given more time we'll eventually find the right combination as long as we keep the AD / Jrue combo. We almost had it last year with Boogie before the freak injury. I think we would of really come together in the playoffs and been a force last year with Boogie.

I think we could easily be one of the better destinations for AD both monetarily and competitively. Not the best but one of the better ones if you consider all the factors.

I don’t know if Tatum and Simmons are untouchable or not, but I’m swinging a deal for either of those if feasible. Though I’m high on balls future, I’m not sure how much Lavar would be ok with his son playing in New Orleans. If that isn’t factor and they aren’t going to bitch there way out the second he gets traded, Ball/Kuzma is a very good start. Would be Lonzo’s show in New Orleans too.

We’d really need Boston probably to jump in and throw Tatum in the mix if we wanted any shot of LAL dumping assets. They rightfully should be worried about an AD to Boston deal. You’d also keep AD out East. I don’t want Kristaps. He’s an amazing talent, but I just have this bad feeling there’s a good chance that height and frame will deal with injuries his entire career.

ETA: since most people are posting their desires, if AD wants out definitively, my absolute baseline for an AD deal would be Jaylen Brown or Jamal Murray type/multiple picks. Maybe you could convince a Denver to give you a package centered around Jamal Murray plus other assets. I’d want at least one player I could see thriving in a high usage role and developing into a superstar with other depth around him. Those returns would absolutely suck for a player like AD, but it’s better than losing him for nothing and watching him walk.
