Prayer is a petition to your creator to meet a need, that you cannot. Everyone dies. But Christ clearly indicated that the purpose of healing was to instill faith. (see healing of the lepers, and Christ's incredulity at only 1 returning to attest to the miracle) Also:

And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

That is what is happening in this case. Many are reading this story, and rethinking their views. Obviously you are not.
