He does do intelligent things. One of them being QB but also he trusts his advisors. For example, to choose things like Purdue for his degree over Kentucky. and then I mean if you even look at his degree "industrial management" it makes the case that he was thinking he would end up being a foreman on a construction site. Just a strong case for simple intelligence, good at following and dishing out orders
