On one hand, I realize if I am Too strict, she’ll rebel and I’ll have a much worse situation on my hands.

All I can do is show her how a man should treat a lady, and give her home training, and let her know that daddy will always be here for her.

Teenage girls are the absolute worst creatures.

ETA: mine is 8. I figure i’ve Got 4, maybe 5 more good years. I dread the day the red menace comes

My dad was super strict. I didn’t rebel while under his roof, out of sheer terror. I appreciate that he stuck by his principles. Everyone said he was too hard on me, but he knew well enough about teenagers and knew I would be a nightmare if he gave in. I waited till I was an adult to make choices he didn’t agree with. And now, he is who I go to when I need advice. I have tremendous respect for him.

Bravo, exactly what I did. We did many daddy daughter dates and I would treat her the way she should expect anyone else to treat her. It was great.

She actually called me to pick her up on one when her date began to get pervy. She simply said she had to go to the bathroom, called me, and walked from the restaurant to another close by business and I picked her up. No third degree questions from me or making a scene of any kind. She was free to discuss what happened or not as long as it wasn't serious or required the law.
