Why do people expect a religious leader to shut their faith off and give niceties instead of a faith based approach to things? I don’t get this. Just hire a funeral home and let whoever speak, but don’t expect a person of deep conviction to shut their faith off and give you what you want to hear, in rubber stamping shite for you with their religion.

It’s called human decency. They lost their son to suicide. He didn’t die in a car accident or get sick. He took his own life. His parents will spend the rest of their lives tearing themselves to pieces trying to figure out why or if they could have prevented it. Telling them that their son will be denied heaven is a horrible thing to do. I grew up Catholic. I know about the beliefs and traditions. But not one fricking time did our preist tell anyone that their loved ones would be denied heaven. Why? Because he wasn’t a piece of shite, and it’s no one’s place to pass that kind of judgement.
