Broadcast a bunch of seed end of Oct. Didnt our any fertilizer down then. Schedule has been shite and basically here I am. I need to put down urea and plan to do it at 150# acre but since I didn’t fertilize then I was wondering if that may be better and put down urea in 60-90 days

Cut hay on 10 acres and come back and just broadcasted. Didn’t get the rain I needed so it hasn’t done great.

With a good seed bed I usually put out seed then urea after about 3-4 inches of growth.

It ain’t really doing hot right now. Hate that I can’t get a cart of nitrate

Urea is not really a plant available form of nitrogen when applied on top of the soi and it is highly volatile. It really needs to be incorporated into the soil profile to be most effective. Ammonium nitrate is more water soluble and plant available. A liquid N-Sol solution is also a good choice. What ever form you use it would be beneficial to use a nitrogen stabilizer like Agrotain.

Co-op here quit selling Ammonium nitrate several years ago. They o my carry urea now @ $450/ton. Believe it’s 64% nitrogen and can easily be lost in the atmosphere and not in the soil. Kinda why I was thinking @ $400/ton I’d put down 13-13-13 then coming back later with a more nitrogen based fertilizer

Everyone is pushing urea and uan because they are safer. Can't make bombs with them. I truly don't know how they compare as efficient fertilizers.
