It says the “on call” period is from 1/14/19-1/25/19. I have a work trip out of state from 1/21-1/25 that I’ve already booked and paid for. Is that a viable excuse to get out of jury duty if I explain the situation and provide my itenerary with purchase date?

FWIW I have no problem doing my civic duty. I’d go without a fuss if I didn’t already have a trip booked. It’s a pretty important project for work.

Does “on call” mean I have to be in town and available at all times during that date range?

Does it help any that I’m submitting a request about a month ahead of time instead of waiting until the last minute?
