I like the idea of a split, but I think the P5 should be reorganized before that happens where all of the P5 conferences become equal in size and number of conference games and Notre Dame is forced to join one of them (which means Rutgers, Baylor, TCU, Wake Forest, or Purdue will be demoted. My money is on Rutgers).
I would argue we either need 4 16 team super conferences (64 teams), 8 8 team conferences (64 teams), or 6 12 team conferences (72 teams). Currently, there are 64 teams in the P5. Big 10, ACC, and SEC each have 14 teams while the Pac 12 has 12 and the Big 12 has 10 teams. I want balance. Also, I would demand that if we move to the 6 conference model, that BYU and all 3 service academies have to be included in the big boy conference.
