Are you saying the 1980 Independence Bowl was meaningful? There were only 15 that year. Of course it wasn't.
Bowl games are what they've always been ... a reward for the team and players except for those bowls with title implications. I don't remember everyone talking about how meaningless they were.
This 'meaningless' crap is just a way to justify guys not playing. Guys like Devin White don't think it's so meaningless. And he's not the only one.
I don't care if players skip but I have a lot more respect for those who don't.
