re: What’s the best gun for deer hunting in heavy timber

Of course 30-30 is the best heavy cover rifle. This is what I have and I hunt heavy timber.
Rifle
30-06 180 grain hornady sst (Tikka with leopold v6)
308 150 grain hornady American hunter (Tikka with leopold v6)
( if I can see more than 100 yards)
Primitive riflle
35 wheelen (traditions with Nikon monarch)
Both the 35 and 30-06 drop em! I’ve never had a deer runoff with those guns/ammo
