You should read Stranger in a Strange Land too - only one of Heinlein i've read. Really weird but really interesting.
Get the normal one probably, they have an unedited version which my friend got and said it was really slow. Its already more of an old school, slow sci fi thing anyway so I think editor probably did a good job of cutting out the unnecessary stuff and moving the story along.

I love old fashioned slow sci fi things. Millions dead on the first page turns me off. I prefer adventure well described stuff. The death of one character that you know a bit about elicits more of a response than the death of a world you know by name only. Thats why I read and write ole school space opera.
