More something for when we are out on runs/hikes/riding bikes....when no wifi is available

Spotify, Pandora, and Google Play all work decent offline. Do they need devices or will phones(if they have them) work?

If you want to stream, you need a phone. You could get a data only sim to put in the phone so it couldn't be used for calling.

If you don't want to stream, you need just a basic mp3 player, but you will need to purchase songs.

If you already have a Google play music, or YouTube music, or Spotify account, you could use an old phone with no sim, connect to WiFi, and download songs for offline playback through one of these services.

If none of these options work, then I am confused about what you are asking for
