No one has made this argument ever. You're arguing with a strawman.
You realize no NFL team can just pick whatever player they want and pay them whatever salary they think they are worth right? There are tradeoffs in every roster move. Ingram is a great fit for this offense especially in tandem with Kamara. Not sure how that makes him overrated. If he demands a salary the Saints think will hurt the team or that they can't offset by acquiring another back then they will let him go and try and sign someone else. Not sure why you think they won't.
