She opened the door for the joke. He had a reasonable assumption that she was making a joke about such things and responded in kind. That actually sets a dangerous precedent of women ambiguously goading men into what they think is a joke then destroying their livelihood. I guess women in the workplace is turning out to be a shitty idea as a whole.
