“The average player at #LSU returns from an ACL tear in 4.8 months.
What's going on here?
A scientific debate that’s been going on for decades.
“Everyone is afraid to go against the establishment.””

At first I thought that it would be some conspiracy, but in reality it's about LSU leading the way in ACL surgeries. Neat.

That is interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Back at Tiger Stadium, athletic training director Jack Marucci leaned forward in a stadium-seat chair in his office to explain: For nearly two decades, LSU has been practicing an ACL surgery that the consensus of sports organizations considers far too risky.
The results, Marucci said, have shown that LSU’s decision was both innovative and safe.
Over 17 years, LSU has repaired the ACLs of 39 football players, and only one player suffered a re-tear — a success rate (97 percent) that equals or exceeds the success rates that have been reported from the nation’s standard method of surgery.
Here’s what sets LSU apart: Marucci said the average time that it takes for an LSU player to return to practice from surgery is 4.8 months — a timeline several sports physicians consider impressive.
So both safe and gets you back on the field much faster. Awesome. Our medical staff and facilities should absolutely be a selling point to recruits.
Maybe Chaisson can play a few downs in the bowl game just to highlight It? Hmmmm...

As much as I’d love to see that, would not be worth it at all. We need him 100% healthy next year!

My favorite was when Mett's drug test was flagged at the combine and they claimed it was because of all the water he'd been drinking for his hamstring

Dr. Brent Bankston, LSU’s team physician, was prepared to perform the patella surgery on Randall, which would require a recovery time of at least nine months — likely cancelling out Randall’s chances of playing in the upcoming season. But Bankston said then-LSU coach Nick Saban suggested an alternative. Saban remembered that when he was at Michigan State, a player had recovered much quicker because the surgeon had used hamstring tendons to replace the ACL instead.
The man is changing modern medicine while being the greatest college coach ever.

Drinking lots of water is what causes a diluted sample

exactly. The other poster created the impression he was flagged for banned substance, not dilution... citing the blaming it on over-hydration due to his hamstring.
My point being he was flagged for dilution, and gave the reason as his recovery.

Ahhhh I understand now, he said that like it was a BS excuse when in reality it’s a reasonable one.
