Question Regarding Possible O Extension???

Why give him an extension?
I always thought extensions were given to sure up a coach staying. Why give somebody an extension, who has had zero looks from other schools or teams? It’s not like coach O has any leverage in this situation. Why waste money extending him when we could just renew?

Because Alleva does not follow the theory of supply and demand
There is zero demand for Orgeron, but we will supply him with a hefty extension

Because Joe Alleva.
A guy like O has no reason to seek an extension. No one else wants him and he's not made any impressive hires. He's the type where you extend him 2-3 years at a time based on performance but never before it's up.
I'd extend him if we could do away with his buyout, but then it's just pointless

Where does the talk of an extension come from?

You're asking a completely logical question but applying to to some moron that gave O an insane buy out.
Joe doesn't actually give a frick about winning. Bottom line is more important.

Does Alleva have to answer to a board or panel? It seems dumb for the university or TAF to allow him to make a deal like this.

Bad timing. No reason for it. Like a participation trophy.

Miles last full season I think we were 9-3 (5-3). Decent recruiting class. Seat was hot as a 2$ pistol. This year we are 9-3 (5-3). Decent recruiting class. Speculation about a possible extension. The main question is why the 180 evaluation difference for similar results?? My guy vs skips guy?? Lower standards?? My cart hooked to his wagon?? Don’t know if he deserves an extension or not but how can you justify one decision when last time it went the other way under similar results???

A soccor mom LSU fan on social media yesterday posted, and I qoute," Who cares about winning, Ed is a very nice man and so was Les" end qoute.
I would say that 70 percent of the LSU fan base falls in this exact same catagory.......and there is the problem. Any call for excellence from our program is futile.

Yes.
Everyone thought O was going to be crap. He hasn't been crap, so now business as usual seems much better.

He has to answer to the Board of Supervisors and the President. But the they generally do whatever Alleva wants as long as the money is coming in.

Don't think the board does that any more. After the Miles extension it's a lot harder for ol' Joe.
