Most high level jobs in Louisiana government that are elected are a complete waste of taxpayer money.
The Treasurer, Secretary of State, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Commissioner of Agriculture, and Commissioner of Insurance are all positions which pay six figure salaries for guys to sit around and let their appointed staffs, many of whom also make six figures do all the work.

Really, really disagree with you assessment of Treasurer and Att General...and to a much lesser extant SoS.
Those serve as independent checks on the governor (and other agencies). It's like division of duties at a macro level. Almost all states have an elected treasurer or comptroller.
The other three I agree with.
