Someone said this

quote:

It's a life decision for a player

And you respond with they aren't a player if they don't play the games, which is a gross exaggeration and over simplification of the situation.

They may sit out the game but that doesn't erase all the other games they played. You're response made it seem like decided to sit out the season.

If I cheer for LSU but leave in the 4th as long as I'm not cheering for Bama or any other team I'm still a fan correct?

This will be the future of CFB. Players will start sitting out the latter part of a season if the team has no shot at CFP or no shot at a winning season. Get ready for more “nagging”, undisclosed injuries to keep them out but they will be ready for the combine.

NFL players routinely play hard when they are up for a big contract and then taper off once paid. This is simply the nature of our current culture.

For a vast majority of NFL players there is no long term loyalty to the team, it is simply a business and they are happy to play for whoever pays the bills. This is not a criticism, just the way it is. However, this is taking hold in CFB as well as more and more players make their “business” decisions about where to play and also when to sit out.
