Savannah, GA Recommendations - Early December

Visiting Savannah for the first time and spending four nights near Chatham Square.
Looking for some recommendations for restaurants and bars.
Open on cuisine, open on price - just looking for great food. Tend to prefer my bars with a bit of history and my cocktails classic - but open to a good new experience.
I've been counseled to avoid the tourist zone on River Street and that The Grey should be on my must list - but would appreciate some more informed opinions.
Thanks in advance!

Don’t avoid River Street altogether. It’s hip to say avoid the tourist areas but silly.
Grab a drink, even at a place like Wet Willies and walk around down there. Sitting and Watching the ship is pretty cool.
Get drinks at Rocks in the Roof on the top of the Bohemian Hotel and at The Top Decknon the top of the Cotton Sail Hotel.
Other places I like:
Crystal Beer Parlor
Distillery
Flying Monk Noodle Bar
Treylor Park
Alligator Soul
Coffee Fox
More later.

Hit up the Green Truck. Low end, but delicious

The Grey for sure. Incredible food and atmosphere. Really beautiful restaurant. Next door is Prohibition. Awesome bar with incredible food as well. I would check out Cotton and Rye as well for food but you will need to take a short uber. Alley Cat Lounge will be up your alley and has the best bartender in town. The bar in the Andaz hotel has great cocktails too and you might run into a celebrity filming a movie and staying at the hotel.

I would do Alligator Soul over The Grey if you have to choose. Have a lunch at Soho South. And I wouldn’t avoid River Street. You are a tourist after all. Go have some drinks and watch the ships roll in. Several good places for that, namely the aforementioned Roof top at the Bohemian.

Missed this part.
Definitely go to Alley Cat Lounge. You will love it.

If you are into craft beer check out Two Tides brewery. They are putting out some incredible ipas and sours. They are only a few blocks from Cotten and Rye and usually have food trucks outside on the weekend. Crystal Beer Parlor and the Distillery always have a really good tap list.
