It’s historically/recently been every 4 years U.

We aren't even "next year U". LSU hasn't been inhabiting the conversation of top teams with championship potential for some time. No one respects the program's offense enough to warrant consideration as "next year U". Only "pollyanna" fans looking through P&G colored glasses believe "next year" is THE year.
Also, just because '03,'07' and '11 were the years we made it to ship doesn't mean shite. To be considered elite you have to be in the discussion annually.
I'm expecting more of the same next year. Same OC and scheme. Same middling line play. Similar outcomes. Where is the catalyst for change and breaking through?

How many schools are elite by this definition? 2?

Experience is a HUGE factor in college. Basically, the entire offense was young this season.

2018:

1st year Center
1st year starters at G & T
Giles- 1st year at LSU
2 true freshmen stud WRs- Chase/Marshall
2 1st year starters at RB (easiest to play though)/Stud freshmen RBs committed to help out next year
1st year QB

Defense will be good again in 2019. White and Greedy will be greatly missed but should be able to get the job done w/o them back.

If you don't know much about LSU, don't post stuff acting like you do. There's not much difference between LSU and Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Michigan, etc. LSU plays in the SEC. Put LSU in any other conference and LSU is in the playoff almost annually..
