Main issue with oline recruiting in this class is it lacks depth. At the top it looks great on paper but we should be taking 5 olineman in this class and on the defensive side definitely at least 3-5.

I'm not sure anyone is going to leave at the end of this season but you do have that risk. I don't think guys like Lawrence have lived up to their billing. He's an okay player but I wouldn't say he plays to where people thought he'd be right now. You still have the risk they're leaving early so we don't have enough committed.

LSU takes too many skill positions every class. We must have 20 WRs on the roster at this point. We need attrition there I'm sorry and it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to let some guys walk at WR if it meant getting more lineman in this class. I'm favor of getting rid of the lower tier guys that are committed if not the WRs to make room for more beef. We need it badly. LSU's oline was awful this season and the dline was just very average with practically no pass rush capability at all. I'm not convinced Chaisson is the sole answer there you need more than 1 capable guy.

Positive side is you could potentially see all returning lineman next season. I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm a little pessimistic there because someone always seems to leave when they didn't need to...

Kardell Thomas - OG
Anthony Bradford - OT
Ray Parker - OT
Thomas Perry - OT
Charles Turner - OC

That's 5 OL. I agree we are very lacking with DL prospects. We have 5 spots left and a possible shuffle with some current commits. I hope the full court press is on DT, DE and rush OLB/DE.

Offensive line recruiting is definitely getting better. A lot better at that. We took 6 guys last year and have another 5 currently committed. We're still missing a great left tackle, but we now have quality depth across the board. If Rosenthal can start at LT next year and we can move Charles to RT, I think our line is going to be incredible next year.

We took 15 OL/DL/LB/TE out of 22 last year. Right now, that number is 10/20. I think Orgeron is working to address the issues in this area, but unfortunately, OL and DL are developmental positions and it usually takes a couple of years for guys to start reaching their potential.

I agree. D line play and recruiting is concerning. I hope we add some quality guys in this class, because I don't understand how we can only have one actual defensive lineman, and he's an "under the radar" type at that. Still can't fathom how we missed on all the Mississippi guys.
