Team - Record - Opponents’ % - Opponents’ opponents’ %
tOSU - .923 - .551 - .551
OU - .923 - .603 - .522

This is assuming all favorites win this weekend. My system gives the Sooners the slight edge. I don’t count MOV, but the fact that it favors OU bolsters the position that OU should make it.

The value of OU’s win over Army is going a bit unnoticed. That’s a quality win, believe it or not.

Michigan was way overrated and let’s be careful saying they were the number one D in the country... just look at those awful offenses they played against.....

Overrated State has a 4 TD loss to 6-6 Purdue. I saw that game, honestly it wasn’t that close.

That game will be a noose around their neck. Struggling vs Nebraska the next week tightened it.

Their only chance is for Bama to win the SECCG and Oklahoma to lose.

One of the things I've wondered about since the CFP started is how do Army/Navy get entered in since they haven't played their last game before the selection. I assume they are just put in as they are as of that date, so Army is potentially a top 25 win.

If Navy blasts army and Army is 8-3, then that win for OU doesn't look as good. OSU played Navy in 2014 and I was wondering about it then as well.

I think MOV is exactly the same for OSU/OU (based on a site I looked at before)

Why isn't it who has the better win...it's def OSU

Look, I think these teams are damn close, and the margins is what will decide it assuming a close OU win and a reasonable OSU win this weekend. I think OSU today is in good position based on what they just did, which is more impressive than anything OU has done. And yea, purdue is a damn bad loss

If Army or Navy is possibly in line for a big6 bowl, the committee waits a week to announce their field. This isn’t the case this year, so this game won’t affect anything. That’s the only Plan B scenario they have. Oklahoma’s fate will be determined before the Army/Navy game.

I'm fine with this honestly, but is it "fair" that the rivalry game played after the selection which could impact playoff teams isn't counted in the formula?

As I said, I don't mind it but it's an interesting side debate if that ends up helping OU out

That wasn't a best win by a little. OSU beat a team in the playoff picture by 3 possession, and kneeled at the 5 yard line to end the game. That blows away any win by OU.

They are in the playoff picture because the Big 10 is fricking dog shite. They should never have been in the playoff picture, an also dog shite Notre Dame beat that same dog shite Michigan team.

You guys fricking suck at football. I'm a Tennessee fan, I know sucky football, so believe me. UCF deserves this opportunity 10x more than you bitches that lost to fricking Purdue by double digits. PURDUE

You go with OU over OSU.

Committee made it clear last year your worst performance is more important than your best.

You can't overcome a bad loss especially when there's the Nebraska and Maryland games to throw in as well.

Oklahoma's loss was respectable in a rivalry especially if they partner it by beating Texas for the championship. An overtime win against a ranked opponent isn't a negative like an overtime win against Maryland.

Not to mention Meyer and the DV situation with his assistant coach has been a black eye for OSU that won't help them.

What would be fun is the trolling if UGA beat Bama. Then both OU and OSU get left out after going 12-1 and winning their conference championship. Bama would get in at #4 (or possibly #3).

(We'd have the best loss of the 12-1's, and the strongest strength of schedule, and solid win margins in our other 12 games).

Absolutely those should be counted, but shouldn't the Tech and Okie St. games for OU? Those teams are combined 11-13 just like Nebraska/Maryland are 9-15.

These teams have both thrown up a number of crap performances. OSU's best has been the better of the 2, and OSU's worst has been the worse of the 2

NCAA members agree to this democratically, so it’s fair enough, I suppose.

Probably hurts OU slightly, though. Army likely will win this game, slightly boosting their SOS by an amount that won’t be considered for their playoff chances.

At any rate, tOSU and OU are in a virtual dead heat. The committee would never look at it like this, but maybe let’s look at each team vs the spread this week and factor that in? OU -7.5; tOSU -14

Should i repeat the same line 62 times for how many points OSU just put up on statistically the #1 defense when the game was played?

This shouldn't be, and won't be factored in at all.

The allegations of a dirtbag like McMurphy aren't going to be what keeps Ohio State out of the playoff. If that happens, it's because of the Purdue loss and nothing else.

It was a good win, and if not for that convincing win we wouldn’t even be having this conversation. Those 62 points gave us a conversation, something to argue about since we have nothing better to do. But there’s no real argument in the CFP committee if OU wins Saturday.

UCF should be 4th if they beat Memphis, but it won't happen.

Matter of fact that was more so of a rape, and oddly you didnt even cover it up.

Those are jokes aimed at how shitty OSU coaches and fans are
