re: Leeville Fishing - What did I do wrong?

I went Friday to the Sulphur Mine and only caught 1 keeper.

Today I went to Catfish Lake and did much better with a couple real nice trout. Caught a lot of dinks but it kept it fun. Did a little scouting and learned part of a new area, I do plan to fish the area more often. Last 2 trips prior to this one I seriously thought about putting a for sale sign on my boat, getting skunked it happens.

As far as a GPS. I had never been to Catfish lake before today and used my phone to find my way. I had 4 bars of service the entire time out there, you could actually see the cell towers while fishing. We caught all of bbn our fish on a chartuese sparkle beetle under a Versamaxx Popping Cork.

I bring 4 rods with saltwater fishing.

1. is a popping cork with some type of soft plastic.... Z Man, Matrix, H&H Coacahoe....

1. is the same thing except rigged for the bottom.

1 is a baby minus

1 is a gold spoon in the summertime or a jig head with a split shot about 12" from for dead shrimp to bounce off the bottom in the winter.
