The ref simply made a call. He decided it was an incomplete pass. It could have gone either way and you could make an argument for it being called either way. But the official made his call.

But it totally eliminates the possibility that Greedy will also fumble the ball as he runs with it. Once the play is dead, you simply cannot determine the unknowable outcome from that point
