I respectfully disagree to a degree.

Tremont Waters may have had his worst game as a tiger from a turnover standpoint today. His drives to the basket often led to turnovers and he wasn’t very effective against their bigger defenders. The reason we had a 9-point lead was because of jevonte smart’s playmaking abilities. We got the lead to 9 because of his ability to take the ball in the lane and shoot over defenders and also to make the right pass.

We came out of that timeout and immediately gave up an uncontested three on a simple ball screen at the top of the key. Then smart never got a chance to take the ball again. It was all tremont dribbling after that running the clock down before using two possessions up without getting a quality shot.

The turnovers and rebounds killed us. We shot almost 52% to their 38 and yet they got 25 more attempts because of those two things. We lost our aggressiveness and had the wrong guy running the game...for today. Just because Waters usually is the guy doesn’t mean he was the right choice down the stretch today.
