I'm wondering, though, why people who are so gungho here about parents' dominion over their children suddenly change their tunes when Muslim practices are involved. Well, strike that... I'm not really wondering.

The only real benefit of male circumcision is if the person can't figure out how to bathe. Really male circumcision is more likely to harm than to help, because there is virtually no case of it being a help. This doesn't even go into that it is causing an infant massive trauma. There is really no benefit and it is ridiculous that it is accepted.
