Many international flights start to board 45 minutes early, sometimes earlier. Remember you are loading 300-400 passengers loaded down with gear. Not a 100 people going on weekend length trips.

If you miss your international flight, you aren’t getting there until the next day.

I’m not conservative on flight times, but yeah I’d rarher get there 2.5 hours early then under 1 hour. Walk around, have a beer, whatever, the extra hour goes by quick.

Plus, you are on vacation. Last thing you want is to be sweating bullets about making your flight on your way to your vacation.
