1st International Trip Question

I’ll be taking my first international trip in a few weeks and have what is prob a dumb question.
I’m currently booking my flight and one option is to be routed through the likes of O’Hare w/ a 45 min layover (there are other options to layover there for like 2.5hrs or go to SFO instead and have an hr and 10 layover)
Does this give me enough time to deplane my domestic flight up to Chicago and then get through whatever additional security measures and onto the international flight?
I fly a shite ton domestically, but don’t know what all I will have to do for an international flight.
Any help on the above or tips I should know are greatly appreciated.

I would not book a flight with a 45 min layover before an international flight. If your flying get s delayed, you’re SOL and will waste significant time trying to get to your destination.
Give yourself at least 1.5 hrs.

You are supposed to arrive for an international flight at least two hours prior to the flight. 45 minutes is insane.
