If you have to choose your words carefully to defend your position, then you are holding a weak position that is not easily defended.
Simple illegal entry into this country certainly is not a crime, it's a civil offense, but I seriously doubt that you could find a single illegal immigrant in this country who isn't committing actual crimes simply by virtue of their being IN this country. I'm obviously not suggesting all illegal aliens are drug dealers are murderers, or bank robbers, or anything of that nature; but a very large portion of them are using stolen social security numbers, or voting illegally in elections, or not paying taxes on income they are earning, etc etc etc. You know this, and I know this.
It would be virtually impossible to survive in this country as an illegal alien without doing so.

I am libertarian and I thus believe in the free flow of labor.
That does NOT equate to “not vetting” or “free stuff” for them.
As a libertarian, I also think that about 99% of social programs should go away. If that were the case and Americans HAD to work, there would be significantly less labor flowing here.
