Then please IB Freeman, explain how the American School of Economics (aka National System), and our version of mercantilism and protectionism, was fascist? That was our economic model from 1787-1913. The founders when creating the constitution, wanted a protectionist system. Now please, read up, and report back. Hack

You can't be saying the National System of the 19th century was superior to the almost tariff free periods of the early twentieth century and the very low tariff periods since WWII??? Hoover's tariff were a big contributor to the depression and his tariffs reversed a 25 year period of very low tariffs and tremendous US growth.

You liked that the Southern states damn near revolted over the trade problems caused by the National System tariffs decades before the Civil War??

You liked the humongous public works spending of FDR?

Our economy has grown more in the last 30 years than it did the 250 years previous combined.
