Does the company have a policy in writing that says you must have a doctor’s note for any time off for illness? Were you given a copy of this policy? If so, well, you picked a stupid place to work for. Companies that have no respect for others needs are not worth working for.

I’ve noticed that even excised is starting to be penalized in so HR systems. I’ve been around a few lately where it’s points/tiered (ex: 3 points verbal warning, 6 written 9 final 10 term) and even an excused with note and proper notice is a point while various late calls or without note are 2-3.
Seems real lame to ding someone that’s gone to the doctor and called the requested number of hours before their shift. Figured it was an outlier but have seen it several times (never subject to it though)
