Get the biggest one you can. You'll think you won't need it, but you will wish you had it. I have a 6 qt. and a 3-4 pound pot roast fills it pretty damned full. I wish I'd gotten the 8 qt. As for the functions, I don't really need the model with 10 functions. I'm not all about making yogurt in my pressure cooker. Saute, pressure cook, slow cook, rice cook, and that's really about all I need in the way of functions. The only automatic button I use is the rice button. I don't use the stuff like the soup function. If I'm cooking, I just set it manually for the pressure and time I want.

8 qt volume, though, that I do regret passing on.
