the minimum wage will never be a living wage. Raise it all you want but skilled labor will go up as well as everything else...essentially keeping that hourly rate the same as it's always been

I don't understand how people don't understand this. If I'm working at a company as skilled labor and the unskilled labor gets a 2w% raise, I'm not going to continue to work for the same amount. It's the simplest economic concept that exists.

And were ignoring the fact that the typically largest expense in production just rose over 20%, and people will bitch when the prices go up.

Here's the rub on it. You think the grocery store produce manager is going to continue to be happy with 11 per, knowing that the kid bagging groceries is making that much too? Nope. And businesses need to cover that somehow, with higher prices.
