it was a birthday party of someone who I don’t see very often but I have a crush on but only see 3-4 times a year. I thought me being invited in the first place was odd because I don’t see a lot of these people very often. I am pretty sure last time I had seen her, I was very boisterous (a bit of a harmless jack arse) so i thought she and her ilk had told my buddy that they didn’t want me me to come out when I didn’t hear from them. Just felt awkward

The only assumption worth making when you have an invitation is that you're invited. Follow up or not, that's up to you.
