Deculus starting at RT over Magee

quote:

Orgeron says with Garrett Brumfield starting, Austin Deculus will remain the starting right tackle (since Adrian Magee is less needed at LG).
“We feel that he’s best suited to start.”

uhhhh why would we change something that's been working fairly decently. Magee hasn't played RT since the first Q of the Miami game

He replaced Deculus in the Moo St game, but whatever the coaches feel is best.

I'm one of the few who prefers Deculus over Magee I guess.

Magee's too stiff. Deculus at least has the feet and the bend to make up for some of his mistakes.

Well that’s not concerning at all.

I’m ok with this. He struggles against speed guys. He will be facing a 6’8 320 lb mammoth who isn’t lightning quick.

just like Brummfield wasn't ready last week or Campbell was starting over Hines vs UGA

I’m worried now. I have seen Deculus’s guy fly right past him too many damn times this year.

Agree, I like Deculus in the run game but too much a liability in pass pro

I just want Hines to play! He’s been money.

I'm wondering if they are going to rotate 7 guys during the course of the game to keep guys fresh. I don't see that strategy with OLs but maybe we try it this game.

See the post by Rayballs.... Dec should be fine. If not, at least we Have depth enough to replace him.

Don’t think it would come in to play. Dec will do fine.

He flat out misses blocking assignments on crucial plays.

It seems like O likes to start the experience but doesn’t hesitate to make a change.

Yeah, I agree and it makes me feel dejected because of the memories I have of him getting one arm slapped onto the turf against UF over and over.
